Jojoba oil, properties, benefits, and uses
As you know, jojoba oil is the ingredient of many celebrities to show off perfect skin. Your feet can also get those benefits, and therefore, we want to show you what it is. Let's get started!
What is jojoba oil?
Jojoba oil is a liquid obtained from the seeds of the Simmondsia Chinensis plant, a shrub native to the Sonora Desert (USA-Mexico border) and the Mojave Desert (USA).
This oil is extracted naturally by cold pressing to maintain all its properties, and it is rich in antioxidants and vitamins E, A, and D.
It has similarities with sebum (a waxy substance produced by our skin glands) which makes it non-comedogenic (not causing skin pore blockages) and hypoallergenic (with fewer allergic reactions), as it acts as a natural skin conditioner.
Jojoba oil is one of the most popular and used oils in natural cosmetics, and its benefits for the skin are multiple. If we add that it is suitable for all skin types, especially for sensitive skin, it becomes an indispensable part of any daily personal care routine.
What is jojoba oil used for, and what are its benefits?
Among many of its great benefits, the most outstanding are the following:
- It has antioxidant compounds, so it's known to have anti-aging properties.
- It is a humectant, so it keeps the skin moisturized.
- It has vitamin E and vitamin D, which provide a protective action on the skin.
- It is astringent, so it helps us treat skin conditions such as foot calluses.
Uses for repairing damaged hands and feet
If you have calluses, corns, or dry and cracked areas on your feet and hands (or elbows), you should have some cream with jojoba oil on your bedside table. Its moisturizing and anti-fungal properties will work miracles.
