Before & After the Routine

Before After
Rough, calloused skin on heels and soles Softer, smoother skin after soaking and moisturizing
Tired, achy feet at end of day Relaxed, refreshed feeling from warm soak and balm massage
Occasional foot or leg cramps Eased tension from Epsom Salt and the massage-in balm
Dry skin that feels tight right after washing Balm locks in the moisture the soak alone cannot hold onto
Mild foot odor or early fungal concerns Naturally supported by Tea Tree Oil's antifungal properties

Who This Is For

  • Sore, tired, aching feet after a long day's standing, walking or sport.
  • Heels and soles that have rough or calloused skin and require regular softening.
  • People having cramps in the foot or leg occasionally, making evenings uncomfortable.
  • Anyone noticing slightly unpleasant foot odor or early signs of fungal infection.
  • Anyone wanting a real at-home spa experience rather than a quick wash.

Why Soak + Balm Work Better Together

The soak helps to soften and open the skin; calluses loosen, pores open and skin becomes truly receptive. Soaking alone is not enough to keep water in because after it dries, skin naturally shrinks.

The balm is what retains the benefits of the soak. It penetrates much deeper when applied to warm, soft skin compared to dry untreated skin. This leads to long-lasting softness rather than temporary softness that only lasts a few hours.

This is the process professionals use during pedicures: Soak first. Balm after. That combination is what leads to better results.

Professional foot-care routine: The soak prepares the skin, while the balm seals in moisture and nourishment.

How to Use — Soak + Balm Routine

  1. Step 1 - Prepare: Dissolve 1.5 tablespoons of Foot Soak in about 4 litres of warm water.
  2. Step 2 - Soak: Place feet in water for 15–20 minutes. Allow the Epsom Salt, Tea Tree Oil and essential oils to work. This is the relaxing part of the routine.
  3. Step 3 - Exfoliate (Optional but Encouraged): The skin becomes soft enough to allow using the Imperial Feet Stainless Steel Foot File to gently remove softened dead skin. Much easier and more effective than filing dry skin.
  4. Step 4 - Dry: Dry feet completely, especially between each toe. Never rub harshly.
  5. Step 5 - Balm: After skin is warm, massage your preferred Foot Balm into heels, soles and any dry areas. The warmth from soaking helps improve absorption.
  6. Step 6 - Socks: For intensive care, apply balm and wear cotton socks overnight.
Frequency: Use 2–3 times per week. For treating very dry or cracked feet, use nightly.
If cracks are deeper or calluses do not soften enough with regular care, use the Soak + Balm routine together with our Foot Fissure Cream for deeper fissures, which is specially designed for foot cracks.

What People Ask

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I soak my feet?

Regular maintenance, 2–3 times a week for soft and healthy feet. People with very dry or cracked skin will see results more quickly if they soak each day for 1-2 weeks, and then apply balm.

Is this safe to use if I have diabetes?

No harsh chemicals. Contains natural essential oils and Epsom Salt in the Foot Soak. But soaking is not advised for diabetics who have decreased sensation or active wounds on their feet, as they should talk to a doctor or podiatrist first. The temperature of the water is especially significant. Always check it with the elbow or thermometer, never the foot.

Can I use this in an electric foot spa machine?

Yes, the Foot Soak is easily dissolved in warm water and can be used with electric foot spa machines. Use the same amount (1.5 tablespoons per 4 litres) and have more vibration and heat.

Which balm should I choose — Blue, Green, or Soft?

Blue if their feet are dry, cracked, or require lots of daily moisturizing with a cooling and refreshing sensation. Green, for sensitive skin or those who prefer a lighter, everyday moisturiser that has a soothing botanical feel. Soft, if skin is very dry or rough and the richest and most nourishing choice is desired.

Does the Tea Tree Oil help with toenail fungus?

Tea Tree Oil (terpinen-4-ol) has been proven to have antifungal activity and offers a mild protective benefit in the soak. In active toenail fungus infection, the soak is a preparation step to soften the nails and allow the treatment to penetrate the fungus more deeply, but should be done in conjunction with our specialized Nail Mycosis product for clinical treatment.
